- Switch language with Alt + Shift, or Windows key + Space. The current language shows on the taskbar by the clock: ENG or HEB.
- You can also click ENG or HEB by the clock and pick a language from the list.
- No Hebrew in the list? Settings → Time & language → Language & region → Add a language → Hebrew.
- If everything comes out in capital letters, Caps Lock is probably on. Press it once.
- If the keyboard types odd symbols instead of letters, a different layout may be selected for that language. Check the list by the clock shows only Hebrew and English (United States).
MacOn a Mac: switch with Control + Space or the 🌐 (fn) key. Add Hebrew in System Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources → Edit → +.
Important: If some keys don't work at all, or type a different letter than the key shows in every language, it's probably a fault in the keyboard itself, for example after a spill.
Quick questions
I typed a whole text in the wrong language. Do I need to retype it?
Not always. Some programs and extensions convert text typed in the wrong layout. For short text, deleting and retyping is simplest.
How do I stop the shortcut that switches language by accident?
`Settings` → `Time & language` → `Typing` → `Advanced keyboard settings` → `Input language hot keys`, where you can change or turn it off.
